A Peaceful Home: Installing Our Noise-Reducing Windows

Your home is both a sanctuary and a refuge. This is where you retreat after a long day of school or work, and where you recharge for another day of adventures. There are times, however, when you would find it difficult to relax because you can still clearly hear the world outside. The neighbor’s dog, the passing cars – every little noise can be a bother, especially if you’re trying to enjoy some much-deserved rest.

At Renewal by Andersen® of Wyoming, we don’t want you to deal with unnecessary stress. That’s exactly why aside from crafting stylish casement, sliding and double hung windows, we also made sure our products can effectively reduce the noise entering your home.

How Do Our Windows Reduce External Noise?

All Renewal by Andersen windows are equipped with our patented High-Performance™ Low-E4® glass. It is specifically designed to block the majority of external sound that penetrates your home. This impact-resistant glass package comes with a polyvinyl butyral (PVB) interlayer, which has a different density from the actual glass. With this, sound waves coming from the outside are broken up even before they are able to enter your interior.

How Effective Are They?

Whether you simply want to install a sliding window, or you’re about to take on another remodeling project, it’s always best to take note of STC (Sound Transmission Class) ratings. They measure the amount of sound prevented by a particular object.

Our 400 window series, for example, has a STC rating of 34. In the case of windows, ratings usually range from 18 to 38, where the higher point value is equivalent to a higher percentage of noise reduction.

Whether you need help with a replacement casement window or door, count on Renewal by Andersen of Wyoming to enjoy quality materials and workmanship. Call us at (307) 472-2199 to schedule a FREE consultation. We provide service to homeowners in Douglas, Gillette, Cheyenne and other nearby communities.
