If you have hinged, swinging doors, note that they operate like a casement window, so make sure they won’t hit anything when you open them. For sliding patio doors, make sure you have enough space on the adjacent wall to open them.

Material Considerations

Patio door frames also come in a variety of materials. Wooden frames look beautiful, but they are easily damaged and prone to moisture and temperature variances. This is especially tur for sliding doors, which need precise measurements, or they’ll get stuck in the track.
